Utah Mule Deer Hunting
Utah buck deer is drawn two different ways. General-season hunts use preference points: permits go first to the applicants holding the most points, in random order within each point level, and each weapon is its own permit and draw. A fifth of general-season permits are set aside for youth hunters.
Limited-entry and premium limited-entry hunts use bonus points: half of each hunt's permits go to the applicants holding the most points, and the other half are drawn at random with an extra entry for every point held. Applying for a general-season permit does not affect limited-entry bonus points, so a hunter can apply for both in the same year.
Each guide covers what the country is like, how to get in, and what each season is like on the ground.
